What are Swirl Marks?

Swirl Marks are a type of scratching caused by small abrasives contacting the paint. This is mostly caused by car washes that come in contact with the paint. The word “swirl” comes from the look of these scratches, they typically look like circles that “spin” around one another. Ironically, detail shops will often reuse dirty towels to save time and cost. There are no permanent work-arounds to these scratches, the only way to completely remove these imperfections is a paint correction or enhancement.
